The boy got away from his mother, climbed through barriers and dropped into the gorilla enclosure. A gorilla named Harambe dragged the boy around. Zoo workers shot and killed Harambe because they feared he would seriously injure the boy.
The boy was taken to the hospital. He was treated and released.
