Osinbajo can’t replace Buhari if anything happens – Northern elders
Northern Elders Forum has made its position clear again and again that should anything untoward happens to President Buhari that it will not sit idly and allow Osinbajo to replace Buhari in 2019.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of Northern Elders Forum, Professor Ango Abdullahi.
He said the north must retain the presidency no matter whose ox is gored should Buhari fail by a twist of fate to seek re-election in 2019.
He said although it is well spelt out in the constitution of Nigeria
that the Vice President should be allowed to complete the current tenure being Vice President to Buhari, he must not contest in 2019 should Buhari fail to re- contest for a second term.
“The constitutional provision says that in the event that the president dies in office or becomes incapacitated for one reason or the other and cannot perform the duties of his office, he will be succeeded by the Vice president.
“But no one is in a position to know at what point he is going to recover fully and come back to office, or whether the unexpected could happen. The Northern elders insist that Osinbajo cannot replace Buhari in 2019.
“If the worst case scenario happens, and Buhari is not back on seat, the constitution is very clear that the vice president takes over. And what we then expect is that he will take that tenure to its logical end and from there, the politics of power sharing will take precedence over anything else,”
Abdullahi said. He also said that, “When the unexpected happens, in 2019, we will be back to our position that the north should be treated equitably and fairly. And we expect that another northern candidate will emerge as presidential candidate on the platform of APC.” , For complete details Click Banner below : Think it is important? The former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has raised an alarm, over the recent Wednesday military shakeup across the Federation, as it affects the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo.
Fani-Kayode took to his Facebook page on Wednesday evening, to express to his concerns about how the affairs of the nation is being handled, and the treatment meted out to Osinbajo.
“Finally, all of Osinbajo’s security team have been changed, except for his ADC. Most of the Yorubas have been withdrawn, and he is now being guarded by only Northerners.
“He would have lost his ADC too, but he objected strongly to that one, and they left him. The man needs our support and prayers. Every Yorubaman and Southerner, regardless of party affiliation, owes him and the South that much”, Fani-Kayode said.
He added: “Trust me when I tell you that the corpsocrats don’t give a damn about constitutional provisions, the rules or the niceties. The only thing that is relevant, is the interpretation that the Service Chiefs and the Military place on the “National Coordinator” letter, that was sent to the Senate.
“It is not by accident that every single security agency in Nigeria today, is headed by a Northern Muslim, except for the Navy. And now for the first time since 1999, a Northern Muslim has been appointed GOC of the all-powerful and critical 1st Division, which covers the North -West.
“Another has just been appointed to Head the 81st Division, Lagos, and the 9th Mechanised Brigade, Ikeja “There is one more thing that I know which will shock Nigerians, but I will not say it now. It is unbelievable and shocking, and when you hear it you will all appreciate the sheer humiliation that Osinbajo has been put through, since PMB’s return from UK, and before he went back.” View Results
Recall, that on Wednesday, there was a major shake-up and redeployment in the Military. Those affected are:
1. Major General RO Yusuf, of the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps. He is now the Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Minna.
2. Major General A Oyebade, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army. He has been moved to the Army Headquarters, as Chief of Logistics.

Report reaching MY INCOME, on Wednesday morning, alleged that President Muhamamdu Buhai’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, has reportedly moved vital documents away from Aso Rock, out of the reach of the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo
Based on the alleged act, coupled with Buhari’s controversial letter to the Senate, addressing Osinbajo as the “Coordinator of the economy”, a Legal practitioner, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, has therefore, called for the immediate impeachment of Mr President.
Adegboruwa said: “A Coordinator, is a person of equal status with others. So, the VP cannot make appointments, or sack anybody, while the President is away.
“He cannot discipline any erring Minister. He is limited in policy decisions, as a Coordinator
“He has no power of control over the cabal, to whom the President has handed over power, albeit illegally.
“The Chief of Staff was reported to have moved vital documents away from Aso Villa.
“In effect, Nigeria has no leader presently. The existing office of VP, is no more.
“The constitutionally crated office of the Acting President, has been circumscribed by the President. The President is away on an indefinite medical trip abroad.
“The Senate lacks the power to pronounce Osinbajo As Acting President, without a WRITTEN RESOLUTION of BOTH CHAMBERS of the National Assembly, through a DECISION taken on the FLOOR of both Chambers.
“The President cannot travel for medical check-up for an indefinite period of time
“The National Assembly should reject the letter from the President. There is therefore, a serious constitutional crisis. .” For complete details Click Banner below : To View picture in this News and more Click the Banner below :
